Physician-led evaluation to help identify the source of pain

Pain is not always coming from the place it hurts most. Spine, joint, and soft-tissue problems can involve multiple structures — discs, joints, nerves, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and movement patterns that place stress on painful areas.

At My Golf Doctor of Monterey, your evaluation is performed by an interventional spine and pain physician who specializes in image-guided procedures.

Using dynamic fluoroscopic and/or ultrasound guidance, we can evaluate how your spine, joints, and painful areas move in real time. This helps us better understand which structures may be contributing to your pain and which treatments are most likely to help.

What We Look For

Your evaluation may help identify:

  • Painful joints or irritated spinal structures

  • Nerve-related pain patterns

  • Movement-related pain triggers

  • Areas of instability, restriction, or abnormal mechanics

  • Soft-tissue or tendon-related pain patterns

  • Whether image-guided injections or regenerative treatments may be appropriate

Why This Matters

Many individuals come in after trying physical therapy, injections, medications, or procedures without a clear explanation for why they still hurt. A dynamic image-guided evaluation helps connect what you feel with what we can see during movement. This gives us a more precise starting point and helps avoid random treatments that are not matched to the actual pain generator.

From Diagnosis to Treatment Plan

Because your evaluation is performed by the physician who also performs image-guided injections and regenerative procedures, we can move directly from assessment to a targeted treatment strategy. Your plan may include diagnostic injections, therapeutic injections, PRP, shockwave therapy, mobility work, recovery therapies, nutrition support, or a broader concierge recovery program when appropriate.

Built Around Your Goals

Whether your goal is to walk comfortably, play golf again, reduce flare-ups, or stay active with more confidence, the first step is understanding what is driving your pain.
